BIO
Nathaniel Heyer (he/him) is a librarian and licensed Peer Support Specialist living and working in the New York Capital Region. As a transgender, neurodivergent man impacted by a high number of adverse childhood experiences (ACES), gender dysphoria, and symptoms commonly associated with multiple psychiatric diagnoses, Nate’s recovery story is a vibrant rebuttal of pathologizing narratives about individuals who have experienced trauma and mental health challenges. In his work as a Recovery and Transformational Life Coach, Nate fuses principles drawn from librarianship and peer support to champion individuals who are undertaking major life transitions, engaged in self-healing practices, reclaiming spirituality, and/or unmasking an authentic sense of self and physical appearance for the first time at age 30 or beyond.
